I'm in a rented property and live here with my Mountain Dog. My landlord is quite happy about this.
You need to read the lease and NOT the advert. Even if it were not mentioned in the tennancy, it's best to ask. If you don't ask, and the landlord finds out later, he could make life difficult.
Most properties which are let through an agent use the agent's standard tennancy agreement which excludes pets.
You need to find privately rented property to have a good chance of renting without problems. There are out there, you just need to keep looking.

If it is a family house then a landlord should perhaps expect pets, some apartment block's condition of sale is that no pets are allowed in the building therefore making the decision for the landlord. Just give them a ring and ask! |

yes, but ring up the landlord and ask about pets, if its something small like a hamster or fish etc dont worry but if a dog/cat ask. |

Some rented places don't mind, and most council houses don't have a no-pets policy, but it's best to ask before you go signing any contracts, just to be on the safe side :-) |
