borikualoca | Its 575 a good credit score? |
We are trying to buy a house. |

No, its a very bad score. I recommend you try to mend your credit, or get a loan with at least 20% down. Otherwise you will pay through the nose with interest, if you get a loan at all. You need a score of at LEAST 750 with 10% down to get a decent rate of 6%. |

Not right now. Two years ago it wouldn't have mattered . . . Now , people with decent credit can't even get loans. |

Sorry, but no. I'd wait if I were you. |

no 575 is pretty bad. In the state of oklahoma your credit must be atleast 600 for lenders to even look at you and even that we had to put alot down on our new home. |

No not really you could look at other alternatives though. Say a private mortage. Some times sellers are more leniate then banks. And then you can build your credit and own a home. My private mortage last for a year and then lets me come in with a bank mortage to take it over from the seller |

You are not likely to be able to buy a home with that credit score unless you put 20% + down and pay a hefty interest rate. I would suggest looking at Suzy Orman's website for help to get your FICO score up. Her kit is $49.00 and is well worth the price to get some sound advice on what you can and cannot afford. She focuses on helping you raise your FICO score. Once you get help from her I would suggest Dave Ramsey's program. He practices living on "beans and rice," get a 2nd job and pay off all you debt starting with the highest interest rate debt first while making minimum payments on the others. His book is an excellent source for making decisions when managing your money. |

No..it's considered poor. There are things you can do in 6 months that can raise your score but you must be consistant. You MUST pay any loans, credit cards on time, every time for at least 6 months. Your payment history is 35% of your credit score. |

Oh boy! That's bad
The very best rates go to people with scores above 770, but a score of 700 is considered good (the average score is somewhere around 725), says Craig Watts, Fair Isaac's spokesperson. |

NO! You can get a mortgage putting down 20% and accepting a high interest rate. Sorry |

It is not really good, it might be considered just below average. |

Unless you have 20% down, you probably won't qualify for a home loan.
Your other option is to look for a "land contract", or "lease option" or "rent to own" deal where you can pay until your credit score comes up. |

no its pretty low |

Score above 620 is a decent score - 575 score denotes credit problem- not a good score ! |

It is not a good score. It is considered high risk. Make sure you got your actual FICO score first of all. Also suggest pulling your credit reports from all 3 bureaus for free from annualcreditreport.com
You can repair your own credit. Do not pay anyone to do it. You can dispute online with all 3 bureaus. If the information is incorrect, outdated or unverifiable it will be deleted. The catch is in the unverifiable. The creditor has 30 days to supply proof of the debt once you dispute it. If they fail to do so you get the item deleted. Get your reports and see why the score is so low. If you need additional information or help you can contact me through my profile in yahoo answers. I would suggest not buying a house until you take the steps to fix your credit, because you will pay a lot more interest with that score than you should. |

I'm no expert, but I think that is a little low to get financing from a reputable lender, especially with the issues that have come up lately in the media about the subprime lenders having so many foreclosures. I would go through my credit report and make sure it is correct, then start paying off the debts that are causing such a low score. My banker suggested to me, that small loans under a couple thousand dollars can negatively effect credit, so pay those off. Also, get rid of all but one credit card, too many credit cards look bad. With a credit score as low as yours, I would be very concerned about getting a bad deal from one of these subprime lending companies, clean up your credit and then go house hunting. |

You should be looking at all 3 credit scores at www.fico.com/12. The mortgage company will look at your middle score. Also, I don't agree that this is a bad time to buy a house. It is a buyer's market and a lot of banks are desperate for your business! At least talk to a couple of them (don't let them run your credit though as that will lower your scores) to see what they say. Make sure you have all 3 credit scores with you. You will probably need to get alternate forms of credit letters from utility companies, your landlord, etc. if you have been timely with them. Your bank will probably have to use an underwriter to get you approved. Only once they tell you they can approve you based on the scores you provide should you let them run your credit.
My credit was only in the 600s and I got a nice home this year at a low interest rate, no money down. It can be done but you have some legwork to do. Good luck! |

No, it is in the under medium score line, you will have to go with a higher percentage (if possible now) finance company.
Have you considered renting, and building up your score before purchasing.
You actually would be considered a risk.
Sorry, you asked. Look up credit score info. and check it out for your self, or call your local finance co.
good luck to you |

575 is a very bad credit score 725 is good and 850 is excellent but 575 sucks you will have to build you credit for a while if you want to get a house |

Not really, 650 is good, my inlaws both work and have a 600 rating and couldnt get financed for the home they wanted and with a better credit rating youll get a better interest rate. |

No way. Sorry, but I'd wait. 620 is considered "good", and once you get into the 700s it's smooth sailing, really. |
