Anaiza | Legally- what time is it okay in apartments to make normal level noises in the morning??? |
It does not say anything in the lease about what time is okay- only when moving out. |

That would be a local noise ordinance, so we won't be able to tell you. In addition to the lease itself, see if the lease incorporates by reference a list of rules and regulations. Is there a clause in the lease that says you will follow the rules, even though the rules aren't actually in the lease?. If so, you need to check a copy of those rules.
To find out about the noise ordinance, check the website for your town or county. If you can't find anything there, try the police non-emergency number. |

I don't think there is a "legal" answer. Normaly you should just use common sense. Knowing your neighbors habits would help too if you care about waking them. I would say a good rule of thumb would be about 8am, and 11pm.
Good luck. |

Basically it's 6 a.m. to about 11 p.m. That means that if I want to play my music LOUD at 10 a.m. I can. (and LOUD is subjective) If my kid wants to bang his toy at 9 am, he can. The alarm, tea kettle, t.v. news, walking around, opening & closing doors are all normal noises. It's generally after 11p.m. to 6 a.m. that most ppl have problems. That means that music played like 2 p.m. volumes, crowds dancing around yr apt til 4 a.m. WILL be a disturbance legally. I had a neighbor who had parties every Sat nite and I could hear my closet doors rattling, but I wasn't bothered, on the other hand another neighbor's child would cry & scream every Sat morn and drove me crazy. |

I guess it depends on when you have to get up. I need to know what you mean when you say normal level noises. Do you blast the radio? Or use a loud alarm? Or do you just walk around your apartment getting ready to go? I don't think there are any specific times, we all work different shifts. |

8am, and it is up to law enforcement, not your landlord that can tell you how loud you can be. |

in the state of ny it is 8 o clock, no excessive noise between 11pm and 8 am |

i guess its base on your neighbors.i don't really know a legal answer. |

In my old apartment building it was 7 am. I suggest if you're neighbors are making too much noise late at night or early in the morning, ask them politely if they could keep it down. If they refuse or it is still a problem, then talk to your landlord.
If its yourself you're worried about, I say make as much noise as you want and wait and see if anyone says anything. |

different states, different rules i'd guess, but my downstairs neighours hate me!, only 2 flats here, split level type overlapping, but i work shifts, just finished work, its 2.05 am here now(sat morning), and ive got media player, on random, and 7.1 surround happening again!, and loudly!, only way to have it!...
edit - whats the definition of normal noise?, is there a specific Db limit on that??? |

Call your local police department or check their website. If you live in a complex or planned community they may have their own rules about quiet hours, so check your house rules. Normal noise is usually acceptable between 8 AM and 10 PM. |

There is no legal designation of when you can begin making a normal amount of noise. What is normal to some could be drastically different to others, it is very subjective. |
|

Legally you can make normal level noises whenever you want. If its above normal levels I believe its considered noise pollution between 10pm - 8am |
|

Well, since most people are up and around between the hours of 6am-8am, some noise should be expected. You won't be able to get away from the sounds of people walking around or maybe a TV or some talking. But after 8am, I think that more tolerance for sound should be considered. Kids are going to wake up and run and jump around, and that's just a part of apartment living. I think that the people that live above me wear Timberland workboots all the time and tend to walk really heavy. I just turn up my TV or stereo a little more to drown out the sounds. |

There is probably no legal time, just anything depending on your lease. If your lease says nothing, then you can make "normal" noises anytime you want. Obviously you just want to be courteous to neighbors and not use power tools, listen to loud music, etc. |
|

|
Legally - it is whatever the time is stated (or not) in your lease, provided this does not contradict any statutory legislation. The trouble comes when you try to define 'normal' levels of noise.
The trick is to make friends with everyone so that they will want to be more considerate, a counsel of perfection I know, but cheaper in the long run. |
