gsarr12 | Letter from Landlord? |
I Just received a letter from my landlord saying that after 35 years that he will be selling the building that I am living in. The lady on the 1st floor from me told me that they may be tearing down the house and building a walgreens. I am not sure when this is suppose to happen but does anyone know if they would compensate me since I am a single parent with 2 kids and can't afford to move. |

Unfortuantly they won't or are they obligated to compensate you. Anywhere you may live on a month -to -month basis is subject to those types of decisions. Even if you get 30 days notice of eviction, you actually have longer if you haven't found a place to live by then. If you get a notice, go to court on the scheduled day and explain to the judge your situation. They will often extend the time. Good luck. |

They will probably not, and have no obligation to compensate you in any matter. Look at your lease, because it may say something to the effect that they only have to give you 30 days notice if they decide to sell the property. If not, the new owners will most likely let you live out the remainder of your lease, but after that you'll have to go. Good luck! |

your landlord has to give you at least 30 days before you have to move out and as far as compensation don't count on it people just don't help each other any more everyone is too worried about themselves and too busy being greedy
sorry just a small vent |

This is unforunate, but no the 'big business' people are dealing with the landlord...he is the one receiving and $$$ compensation.
since you heard this info as gossip, i would call your landlord and just ask him if that is the plan ahd how long do you have before they will issue 30 day notices to you.
this way you can at least get a plan.
good luck... :) |

Talk to them. Then check out some building or sign up for housing. They help you and you get a very very low rent. =) Don't worry stay calm. =) Hope I was a help. |

There is nothing you can do. Once your lease expires you can be forced to move. |

How is your credit..it may be wise to purchase a home so this cant happen again. LOOk into first time home buyer program see if you can qualify for a non down payment home loan. some even help pay for closing costs. Not really much you can do if the new owners plan to tear it down.. |

I don't know but I am sorry that is happening to you....they may do something....I don't know....if they dont then see if there are some non profit organizations that could help you....good luck! |
