I wouldn't advise it. The apartments won't allow you to sign a lease without your parents co signing with you. It's a lot harder than it may seem and I just advise you to stay home until a little later. I'm 21 and it's hard enough for me.

You will probably have to be emancipated or your folks will have to sign the lease too. |

Possibly. But it would depend on the reasons why you should live alone at 15. How financially stable are you? If you are mature enough. |

a 15 Yrs old living alone? No landlord will rent you a place, and with what money are you going to pay for your necessities? Besides, when you cry, where is going to be your mum? she is not going to come to you and you are going to be crying all alone, better stay at home... |

Honestly? It's very unlikely.
Most commerical properties won't rent to you because of your age, and if they did they'd need a co-signer. But again-- they probably wouldn't even consider it.
Then there's the practical implications. Can you earn enough money to pay rent working as a 15 y/o? Even while attending school? Some states won't allow you to work legally w/o parental consent. Since you're 15 you can't dive. How do you expect to buy groceries? You can't unless there's some very good public transit, or you move in with an older room mate who has a car.
I know this isn't what you hoped to hear, but you can still see if maybe there's an open room in someone's home. I know of elderly folks who can take care of themselves but need help with housework and the occasional ambulance call. They will still charge you rent, you will still need to pay for food and usually utilities, but it is a place of your own.... sort of. |
