Lodger taking drugs?

i am a lodger who smokes canabis at weekends, my landlord who i rent a room from is ok with it, but he is scared that i might set fire to my room, because he says his home insurance wont pay out please advise me?

If he's okay with it, what's the problem? Just be careful because he's being generous not causing a problem for you so you don't want to reaffirm his concerns by setting fire to his house! Maybe you could smoke outside?

I admire your landlord for tolerating that. I know many do smoke cannibis but there is a place and i dont think you should risk the fire thingy not to mention getting caught!!! I'd do it outside in back garden or somewhere discreet.

Best thing would be for you to give it up .....

why don't you just stand in the yard or on the door step.thus preventing any burns to your lovely clothes and your (LANDLORDS) furniture.

It is true that his insurance would not pay out as a result of a criminal act but to prove that it was drugs and not a cigarette would be imposable. You cannot insure the building as it is not yours to insure. Just be careful is all i would recommend.

Smoke outside!....that way who ever comes doesn't know you were smoking weed in the house, and you won't set the house on fire!....Good luck....enjoy!

Smoking pot is illegal. Your landlord's insurance won't pay out for any damage resulting from an illegal act. Burn the house down and you're personally liable. Your landlord could be prosecuted for allowing his premises to be used for illegal drug use. So smoke it behind the bus shelter like the rest of us do.
