She just kicked him out yesterday with no warning. The way I see it since there was no warning and that since the rent is usually paid at the end of the month she can't technically do that. the answer to this question would depend upon whether there was a written lease or not. if there was no written lease, your boyfriend was technically a "month to month" tenant. she would have to give him 30 days notice to vacate (and him likewise if he wanted to move out).
either way, she could not kick him out if he was 1. making payments as agreed (the month is not over yet, after all, and she cannot push him for partial payments before the agreed upon payment date) 2. not violating any laws. she also could not hold his computer, as this is collateral against an agreement that is not being violated. your boyfriend should contact the township about this. |

LL cannot legally keep property of tenants as "hostage" for rent. Rent is normally paid at beginning of month, in advance, but may be paid at other times. LL cannot legally kick out tenants without warning. BF can go to house with police to reclaim his computer and any other belongings. |

They cannot just kick anyone out if the person has established residency. They have to give a 30 day notice. If he calls the police, they will get him back in. |

you should get your self a house, why do you guys live with other people that can toss you out if you misbehave, and disrupt house? Im just kidding! we all know LL`s toss out responsible , paying ,tenants all the time. legally, i think he cant keep his property. but, also you have an unusual arrangement, paying rent in arrears.and no cash deposit ,, good luck trying to find another LL that will do that. |

Nope they must do it legally he needs to call the police and tell them he was thrown out they will tell the owner he has a right to be there and if they want him out they have to do it legally. 30 days or 3 day pay or quit notice if his rent is past due.
