I have horrible credit. My husband got laid off last year from a great union job. I lost my home the day after Christmas this year. I have 3 children and would like to keep my kids in their schools. I have to be out of my home Jan 28, 2008 I promise to pay my rent on time if someone is willing to rent to me. My mortgage was too high after the job loss. I can afford to pay rent, we both work and are trying to re-establish our credit and get back on track but no one wants to rent to me? Please help... I am looking for a home in Pinon Hills or Phelan CA with an allowance for my dogs. With 3or 4 bdrms. How can I get some one to rent to me?

I don't know where that is, and do not own anything there anyway.
You may have to loose the dogs. You are asking for a lot. You want someone to rent you a big house, with pets, knowing that you husband is unemployed and you have proven that you do not feel obligated to pay your bills. you told the bank you would pay your mortgage too, and you did not, no one will take your word for it. there is documented proof that your word doesn't mean much.
Figure out what you make, and look for a rental 1/3 of that.
If you can not manage that the Salvation Army should be able to get you into a shelter since you have kids. however the shelter does not take animals. |

If you want someone to rent to you - offer to pay 6 months, in advance, and then pay every month (which means after 6 months they'll actually have 1 year in rent). Also arrange that after you're in for a year you can go back to a standard rent arrangement.
If you can do that financially, then someone will rent to you, because their chance of loss is very low. |

It's rough -- we lost a home years ago and unfortunately, you are not alone at all. Life gets rough sometimes. We ended up in an apartment and I totally LOVE IT where we are. The bad part is, because of the bad credit, we had to pay a really HIGH deposit ---- check out some apartment complexes -- it's not so bad. I'm sorry you are going through this hell -- that is what it feels like but ya know what??? You'll get through this and in time, it WILL make you stronger. I'm a grandma -- and we used t have perfect credit and our lives are ruined too (partially because of lay offs too)....well, I shouldn't say our lives are ruined --- my life isn't ruined. I learned a LOT. |

you've been evicted due to foreclosure, have 3 kids and your husband doesn't work? this is not the best way to look for a rental home. try the newspaper and good luck. |

Get a Debtor/Creditor/Bankruptcy/Forclosure Lawyer.
I am a Debtor Creditor Lawyer but Im in New York. Sometime you can fight!! Stop the foreclosure, sue the bank for Preditory lending violation of the FDCPA, etc. Bankruptcy may be able to stop forclosure. |

If all 3 kids were in school, he should have been working TWO jobs and you should have been working a day job, and that would have kept you from losing the house, until he got called back.

You know what, some of the comments on here or ridiculous. Guess what? TImes are hard, and jobs are scare! It isn't so easy for someone, with little or no skills, to go "work two jobs." I am a teacher and when my husband lost his job, he spent every day filling out applications and scouring craigslist for work. Even when he did find a job, it would last a week and then he woul dget laid off again. How dare you make someone feel as if they deserve the nightmare of foreclosure. If you can't offer any decent advice then keep your damn mouth shut. |
