dolfinluvr75@sbcglob... | My landlord allows my neighboring tenant to live here knowing they are involved with drugs? |
what rights, if any, do we have to be able to take action. |

In Florida, and other states as well, a landlord can lose his building if he permits drug use or other criminal activity to take place there. You should confirm that this is the law in your state (the police could answer this question). Then you can tell your landlord that criminal activity is taking place, and if he doesn't evict the tenants, he is at risk of losing his property. That will make him sit up and take notice! |

NOTHING, but you can let the cops know what is going on.. |

Even if they cared, your landlord would probably need an actual arrest before s/he could do anything about getting rid of them.
You are going to have to decide if you want to make that happen, or if you would rather move out. To make it happen, contact our local police and neighborhood crime prevention organization to see what they advise.
Once they have an actual arrest, you may have to take on your landlord to force them to make an eviction. |

you can call your local police department to check out the situation....hopefully they catch them and off they will go to jail |

you need solid proof to get them evicted. make a complaint to the landlord. but do you really want to evict them? |

i think its discusting you ask.
What if they were owners? what would you do?
To asscociate housing (a fundamenal right) with legal/social nuicance argument, is dickensian. (charles dickens)
do what you would, if they owned thier house. Council, police etc...so anthing else, is NOT your business..is it?
would you ask a neighbour for details of his mortage company?
Go through the proper channels.
You are only serving to big up the "landlord" into some sort of 20th century "squire".
Thats, 20th.........century. |

you have to ask yourself - do they pay the rent on time (probably if they are supplying) so where is your landlords incentive to evict them. but if you complain you are a troublesome tennant and so would actually be more likely to be the one evicted.
so you have 3 options.
1 - do nothing - if they are not interferring with your life do you really care for the hassle of trying to shop them ??
2 - complain to the landlord, which might upset them, or the landlord, or both and then you could be the one in trouble / homeless.
3 - shop them. Although i would probably use an anonymous (crimestoppers) system for this so there is no come back on you. |

tell your landlord that you are going to report the problem to the top landlord that that you are going to call the police |

Well, are they selling or just partaking? If they are selling and you have proof, then take it to the police. If it's just a toke or two, then mind your own business and let them get on with it. |

If the property is leasehold, there is usually a clause which prohibits the property being used for "immoral purposes" which can mean anything. Don't know if anyone has ever been evicted via this clause. The rules of the leasehold would be laid down by the owner of the freehold, which may not necessarily be the landlord (property owner) you describe. |
