does he understand you have to sleep late? Is he willing to work just afternoons ?
He is working within noise limit hours, usually 7-6. you can ask for a rent credit but he doesn't owe you one.
There is a concept in the law called constructive eviction. If the property is uninhabitable the tenant may break the lease. . If there is a tenants union in your area consult them about this. or see an atty. |

You signed a contract, and they can do construction as they feel need be, not much you can do maintenance has to be done. Sometimes construction takes longer than planned, you can either deal with it or rent a hotel room or find somewhere else to live or stay for the time being. He has full right and you can honestly not doing anything about it. Sorry! |

tell him that it will be better if he had a certain time to do the job, but if it has to be fixed there is nothing that you can do about it. :( |

None. They are doing work during normal daytime hours.
I guess if you offer to pay the differential of wages to hire guys to work according to your sleep schedule he might do it, but I wouldn't count on it. |

Have you every heard of earplugs ? Try them. Meanwhile, the landlord is working within the hours of the day considered acceptable for such activity. There's nothing you can do unless he violates a city noise ordinance. |

You have a few options, either use a friends house just to sleep until the construction is done, explain your situation to your landlord and if it's not the only property he rents out see if he can put you up in one of his other rentals until it's finished, you could explain to him the affect this is having on your sleep and your work and have him put you up in a cheap motel, since it's out of your control it should be him that compensates, or you could see if he could possibly work on the siding after 1 PM. If he's an understanding person he should accommodate you. If he's unreasonable you could threaten him with a law suit. You could also try white noise, turn your radio to a station with just static, put on comfortable headphones and crank it up. Eventually your ears will adjust to it and it will be like silence. It's a method for comforting babies but it might work for you. |

There is no legal recourse, all you can do is deal with it or ask him to let you out of our contract and move. I own my condo and my husband works nights and our association paid a contractor to put up siding and it took 3 weeks and there was nothing we could do about it. |

Buy some earplugs, and get a couple of portable fans going on high to drown out the construction noise. You'll get used to the fans constant wirring and be sleeping like a baby in no time. |

Talk to him about your situation and that you understand repairs have to be made but it's affecting your sleep...maybe there's another unit you could move into farther away from noise. You may have to live with it until it's done. Or break the lease and move altogether. |

Get your head phones ,put them on and sleep through it....I had the same problem, but mine used my electric to put a fence up (plugged into my apt using my elect, bill was over $500.) I complained and 3 days latter I got an eviction notice. |

The landlord has the right to have the house sided.
The landlord has the right to do the siding by himself.
The landlord has the right to work on the siding from 7 am until 6 pm.
The landlord has the right to take as long as is needed to complete the job.
It is not unacceptable and you are being unreasonable.
Do you have a lease? If not, give your 30 day notice and move.
The landlord will probably be finished just about the time your notice is up and you move.
Then he'll be able to raise the rent for the next tenant. |

Move out. It's called "forced eviction". Talk to a lawyer first. Sue for your security deposit too. |

Good for your landlord not being a slumlord don't know where u live but here in Pa winter is crawling in..When i use to live with my boyfriend we had a roofing company come out and put on a brand new roof..they came early in the morning (cause the sun wasn't that hot yet)and they would leave at 5pm at night..it's just the way it is sweety..getting a roofing company out to the property takes time took us a month to get on the list..and as far as your landlord goes..don't know his age but sounds like he wants to save some money or he would have a sidding company come out..i know it's rough you could always fall asleep with some headphones on..spend the night here and there at a family members house or what ever you come up with..maybe and this is a maybe..you might be able to save some rent money on your part if you have a male friend that could help your landlord get the job done quiker by doing this you will be one of his better tenants |

sleep to some music. then put the music loud and see if the landlord complains. If he does then that means that he'll most likely reduce the noise levels. |
