Go to the CAB and ask them how to deal with harrassment. He shouldnt be allowed to do this to you. You should also contact the housing office and tell them that your rent isnt going through on time.

Firstly to all you cleaver A---------- out there, do not criticise, you don't know what life holds for you in the future. So you are the lucky ones have jobs, probably earn too much for doing too little. This person has genuine concerns, try to put yourself in their situation for a moment. To the person who asked the question, get onto the council and explain the pressure you are under, when it is sorted ,move.

Option 1 - Move out chicky, he sounds awful - thought people moved away from their parents these days - he sounds like he could be yours.
Option 2 - stay, but visit CAB for advice. Have you signed tenancy agreement? Is there anything in there? Could you talk to this bloke and explain that the rent is out of your hands, and you dont like the way he speaks to you?
Neither option easy, and i know it's the old easier said than done, but start looking around. Not worth the agro.
Good luck, take care.

If moving isn't an option try calling him in for disturbance.

One silly thing though is that rent is usually payable in advance monthly and Housing Benefit is paid 4-weekly in arrears

hans2
it all depends on how long you have gone without paying the rent. if this is a one-off and your only a few weeks late he cant do anything. if he keeps this up tell him when you next see him that you've been to the citizens advice place and they have said that he cant do this to you as your only a few weeks late and you've not been late before. if he carries on harassing you go to the police and get him done for harassment. ok you own him rent, but this is silly behavior from him and he shouldnt do this.

if you've just gone on dss and its a new claim for housing benefit it can take up to 8 weeks to sort out anyway and he should know this.

tell him to go to the citizns advice place himself if he starts to threaten you for eviction. they'll tell him that he has no right to threaten you over late payment. the housing benefit dont pay the landlord when his rents due, they'll send it over a period that suits them.

dont worry- you wont get evicted as you can claim squatters rights and when he takes it to court he has no rights as this is unfair dismisal and as a landlord, he should know this

Buzz s
Relying on a decision support system to pay your rent is not the wisest thing to do in the first palce. It may be that your landlord is too picky.

Zuker
perhaps you could get a job and pay your own rent.

go take some night school to learn better spelling and english.
it will make you a better person.
you may also, with a higher education, be able to find a better job as well..
and possibly , more respect from your landlord.
education is a very "powerful " tool to have.

good luck..........

MARCO
You could get a job...
