I do think he is taking the wee wee and if I was you I would go to citizens advice as I dont think he is allowed to do this. I think you should get free rent until you move!!

greylady
If he sold the flat he should give you back any rent you gave him and put it down on another flat. He is a horrible person for doing that to you. I don't know much about England's way of wording things. What do you mean by takin the wee wee?

He's totally out of order - seek advice quickly, I used to work for a letting agency and we were not allowed access to the property while it was under tenancy (its against the law in the UK - you have rights).

That dont seem right to me!
You should have your belongings till the day you move out
or defo pay less rent
especially if is classed as a furnished property.

He can't do that!... Go report him to somebody.
he is taking more than the P**s

Serious Business
Take yourself and your tenancy agreement to your local CAB office. Another useful contact is Shelter, look them up on the web.

This is awful. Have a look at your Tenancy Agreement - under the part where it says "The Landlord shall provide.." It should state whether or not he agreed to provide furniture. If so, then take the Agreement to the Citizens Advice Bureau as soon as possible, and seek their advice.

I should not say this, really, but if the flat was let furnished, I don't think you should pay any more rent until a decent bed is provided. It will take him a couple of months to evict you, and by that time you'll have to have moved anyway. I am advising you to break the law here, but if he's broken it first, you have nothing to lose. He's unlikely to return your deposit anyway, the b*stard. See what the CAB says and good luck

Did u pay for the flat to be fully furnished ? If not then basically he can do that ... If u did then yeah hes taking the wee wee (lol)
