He turned it off because it was being used and he said it was going to burn up. The unit is oviosly older than the other units in the complex.I figure he dosent want to replace it yet, so I run it on 78 untill it dosent work and he never says anther thing about it until my son and the neighbors friend break into my appt. whlie Im not home and in doing so they break the window.I come home landlord is there yellig at me to get out verbally assalting me making theats(I cant believe what Im seeingIm in total shock)my children are screeming and crying i try to calm them then the landlords father puts on a glove and says something about violence and busts out the other side of the broken window! I dial 911 hisarically(never call them histarically) they show up think I am the bad guy distroying his property because hes evicted me.WRONG!! totally bizzar. cops leave he nails up a piece of 4x8 plywood and starts fixing every other unit in the complex.gave me order to vacate.

You can't not pay your rent - you can hold it in escrow though - you need an attorney to do that. Contact your local Fair Housing Authority. |

If I were you I would contact Fair Housing Authority first and report your landlord. Next I would contact an attorney and see what your rights are and what you can do for having had them violated (if he/she did). Third I would start looking for a new place to live. |

Depends . Have you paid your rent? If you are all paid up to date, then ask her why it was turned off. If the answer is not satisfactory, go to the fair housing commission and report it. Until then get a fan. |

Is your landlord paying for that utility? If so try talking to them, but do not expect much luck. |

Most importantly, you didn't tell us WHY the landlord turned off the heat and air. Landlords just don't turn it off for fun, as they can be sued for actions such as that. There has to be a reason. Not pay your rent on time? |

Your screen name is Evicted, so I would assume that the landlord shut off the heat and AC because you have to move. If you have a medical reason to keep the AC then you should contact the Department of Health and Welfare for your state. If not I guess that you have to sweat it out. |
