I don't get it. This guy has a newborn infant and about 5 other people living his apartment, yet he plays his loud bass filled music all the time. I like loud music too, but I realize I live in an apartment and don't want to be rude to others. My landlord is worthless... so I can't say anything to her. |

I feel your pain, I also live in an apt. and have dealt with my fair share of rude neighbors. I try to be nice. The first time I go knock on their door and politely explain that their music is bothering me. I remember one time I had a neighbor like yours and my couch was vibrating from the bass! If that doesn't work, then you call the police. Sometimes they don't realize how thin the wall are and that they are intruding on your peace, but most of the time, they don't care! One call to the police usually works, but if it doesn't, keep calling. Eventually they will start issuing them ordinance violation tickets and when they start having to pay fines, they will probably knock it off. Good luck! |

Call the cops.
Don't bother with the neighbor or the landlord. Going to the neighbor is only going to piss them off and make things worse. At least if you call the cops you can stay anonymous. |

1 ask him [nicely] to restrict his music noise level and hours of play for example not after 10pm or before 8am[wait a week]
2 write him a letter... if he does not comply [copy to landlord]
3 call authorities...again only if he does not comply
4 move, you lease can be broken if you cannot enjoy 'quiet enjoyment of your property' |

Maybe they are not being rude. It is their home too. This kind of occurrence should be expected when living in an apartment. I live in an apartment but I don't constantly play loud music but my neighbor does. I don't bother worrying about it because when I want to have some fun at my place and play some loud music then I don't want to deal with the neighbor trying to quiet me down. I could understand if it is in the middle of the night but if it is day or evening... people live their lives. |

go the the guy and tell him (nicely) that you're having a probl;em with his music. aske him to turn it down. He may not realize its a problem.
then go to the land lord. then call the cops if none of that works. |

I would contact the apartment manager first. See if he can resolve it, and then if that doesn't work, call the good ole Cops, they love to write out tickets. |

Let your land lord know, they can ask them to tone it down with more athority than you, and then you dont have to get the poice involved, its just music, they might not even know they are disturbing you. |
