Ask if they are willing to accept a post-dated check (after you are done with your closing etc)
But it sounds like you may have to move out and deal with the consequences later on..... |

why not have afriend move into the apartment and you pay the monthly bill and have the friend pay you till the lease is up. |

You need to consult an attorney who specializes in this. I have HEARD that there is nothing, really, a landlord can do but this is not really a "landlord" type-of-situation. This is an apartment complex. This is probably bad advice but it is my opinion on what I would do: I would close on the house and then do what you need to do (leave) and see what happens. I would NEVER pay ANYONE $3100 for ANYTHING. They might sue you, but you can pay it later if its ruled against you, or at least settle for a lesser amount (say, $500). You have your house, you at least have that much settled. And maybe you don't have to pay. Who knows. But why pay now when you may not necessarily need to. |

You are liable for the entire amount remaining on the lease or until they can re-rent after you leave.
They are not obligated to accept any agreement.
Try to negotiate some kind of payment schedule that can work - otherwise you will have to do the 60 day notice on closing date. |

I am pretty sure in Florida it is a law that it is legal to break a lease if you bought a house. Anyway, just forget it, you already got the house so move and let them send the eviction to your credit, they will bill you for the 3000 and you can pay them then. |

This sounds awfully high to us. You should check your lease and see what it says about how much you have to pay if you leave before the lease is up.
Questions:
Are the concessions the rent for the two months? If not what are they for?
The $2000 sounds very high for this situation.
You might check with a lawyer with some experience in rental matter. |

It's a lease. Take it to a lawyer and see if he can find an out; otherwise, it is what it is. |

this is something to think about... when we first into this apartment I put in the repairs in a written statement of what needed to be fix.. I was aware that they had like 72 hours to make the repairs...however they did not make all the repairs.. so I put in another written statement of repairs that still needed to be done,.. they again did not do the repairs.. so.. then finding out that my husband was doing early retirement we would be moving back to our home state.. when office was notified of this move they said we would be breaking our lease... so my comment was ,... check your records you already broke the release when you did not make the needed repairs when we moved in,.. I also had copies of my statements.. so I was able to move with no charges and even got my deposit back. just something to think about.. you should not be charged for this .. good luck to you.. |

You will probably need a real estate attorney to review your lease. |

You are bound to the lease you signed as long as it is legal in the state you live in. Please check the laws in your state and it may benefit you to consult a lawyer. |

There really isn't anyway to get around it.
You can double check your lease to make sure there isn't any other way. |

call ur local magistrates office they can tell you what ur rights are. there are different laws for different areas. and unless it says in ur lease u have to pay the amount before the notice u don't have to. go by what ur lease says that u signed. besides all they can do is put a judgement against u. i suggest u write ur notice make a copy and if it comes up take it with u to court. also start writing down what they are telling u exactly on what date in case it comes up. |

Have you thought about an illegal sublet...? It would have to be someone you trust, of course, who is able to keep a low profile... |
