Negligent landlords rental house across the street from mine needs it's front lawn mowed badly.?
Long story short - I live in a new California community and the house across from mine is a rental property. The tenants were evicted and there have been no new people living there for weeks. The previous tentants mowed the lawn themselves and it has gotten out of control. I would say the lawn is about 2 feet high. Who can I call from the city or county to have that mess cleaned up.
Additional Details
The renters did not mow the lawn every week. So this has really gotten out of control. The house also had a notice placed on the door for reclaim of occupancy or property. Stating anything left in the house would be seized.

find out who owns the property, best way to do that is call ur local city hall, give the address they call tellur the owner, get in touch with them and alert them of your problem. if not call the state housing and let them know about the unkept property and they will enforce this upon the landlrod! good luck!

Why not do a good turn and mow it yourself? You'll make your view nicer, improve your neighbors home value, get some exercise, and do something for someone else. It's a lot better than stewing about something. And it'll take maybe a couple hours.

doinou
The City or County will not clean it up. If you know of someone who might do it reasonably, be a good neighbor and call the owner with that info. They will appreciate it and it can only create good will.

If there are laws about keeping a lawn mowed then call city hall and ask who you should talk to.

2 feet in just a couple of weeks?

OK, well you could just mow it yourself if it is bothering you that much.

Or, if you are in a HOA then the Association may have something in their Rules and Regs that says they can have it done and then fine the owner.

City. Typically Public Works takes care of this, but the main number operator will get you to the right place.

Hiatt Realty, Killeen, TX
I would look for the Code Enforcement Division of the city. Usually, they will come out and tag it with a comply date and then if it is not taken care of, they will cut it and place a mowing lien on the property.

Scadle
Contact your city council alderman and they will hook you up with whom to contact directly. Many cities have different methods of making a complaint: some use the police, others have a specific department of the city.

Call the health department in your city.

Call the city and complain. Most citys have a blight ordinance...they will mow the lawn and charge the owner for them having to come and do it.
