I don't like huge cities, but wouldn't mind a large town or medium sized city-- that is affordable, with things to do.
I've looked into Charlottesville, VA...and have heard good things about Asheville and Charlotte, NC.
Where are some good places to live in either state?? |

Greensboro, NC. Good job opportunities, several quality universities and colleges, not too far from Raleigh-Chapel Hill or Charlotte, great road and transportation hub (AMTRAK, I40, I85, I77, I95), climate is good, population about 300,000 in GSO, 150,000 in Winston-Salem and 100,000 in High Point; great medicare systems, excellent entertainment and sports venues and events, good night life in downtown W-S and GSO. |

Charlotte is a vast growing city, it definitely has great places to live, schools and so forth. However traffic is atrocious as with all big/growing cities. |

I'm for Toronto, Canada. When I do venture to NC to see friends and family, it's always Chapel Hill. Absolutely love it there.
Trip about a bit. Get out and see what you're considering. Take the time. If you're planning on settling there for a while, be sure you're comfortable in your visits.
