Spooky | Noisy Neighbours, what would you do? |
Hi everyone,i live on my own with my 8 month old baby in a house, ive just had new neighbours move in,they have been there about a month, they can be so noisy, they come in at 3 am banging around, shouting and they also argue like crazy, the other night my baby woke up frightened because they were throwing things around the house, this resulted in me shouting against the wall.Im not sure what to do about this, its a private house and we share the same landlord,im in a semi detached, they are in the middle and there is another house next door to them, taht house is empty at the moment but people will be moving in in a few weeks,i really don't know what to do,shall i wait for the other peopkle to move in and let them complain?im stuck!Haven't got the balls to speak to them so i have been thinking about writing a note or going to the landlord or shall i play them at their own game?thinking of leaving the tv on downstairs tonight just to keep them awake?! |

Being even noiser isn't going to work. I would just have a word with them face to face don't argue just explain you have baby and can you try and keep it down, then if they get funny go to landlord and speak to him, then if he doesn't do anything keep diary of noise and complain to council! When the new people move in it might help but the only way to deal is to talk to them! |

If you both share the same landlord, then call the landlord if you wish not to speak with the tenant. Next, call the police as they are more than likely violating a noise ordinance. Do not play their game as I guarantee you that it will backfire. |

speak to the landlord - do not play them at their own game - it will intensify severely and they will hate you for it |

If ti is 3 am they are most likely drunk so speaking with them will not do a thing, first call the police, next morning the landlord. Might take a couple of calls if this keeps going on but then you build a case. If that still does not solve is would get up at 5 am, and blast polka music to be as irritating to them as they where to you, the difference is that they will be hung over wait if its after 3 then would wait till about 7 enough for them to have gone past the passed out stage, into the hung over stage. |

Well you're going to have to find some backbone. You need to go knock on the door and explain that a little peace is not uncalled for in the middle of the night. And if it continues, you will be forced to go to the landlord.
They deserve the chance to correct things and the first thing the landlord will say is have you tried to resolve this on your own. If you are a parent you have to do things you don't want to do, that's the way it goes. |

1 keep a diary of events.
2 try and have a witness present
3 check your local council anti social neighbours policy
call the council and ask thier advice, you do not have to give your address.
4 make a note of the local police tel number.
call the police during the day and explain what has been happening ask thier advice about reporting events when happening ie do they have a department for this.
do not lower yourself to thier level ie do not leave the TV on
you may be able to find out thier previous address and pass on this info to council, never know there may have been compliants from previous neighbours. |

Record the noise they make and keep a diary of times and dates. Then go to your landlord or local housing authority and put an anti social behaviour complaint in about them. If it gets worse or they threaten you then just call your local police which is what the housing/landlord goes on to prove they are bad tenants. Good luck! |

I wouldn't sink to their level. You can be better than that. Just tell your landlord about it firstly, and ask them to talk about it. If there's any further disturbances contact the police. By the sounds of it it sounds like they need someone to step in and say something. Oh, and until it's sorted perhaps make sure that your baby is kept as far away from that side of the house, just so they aren't disturbed as much. |

It depends upon where you live. If you live in an apartment, contact the office. Other than that, I would call the police when it happens because someone could get hurt. |

Do nothing. The next time You have a party or a loud night, they won't have a leg to stand on. I'm good for a 3 month festival. |
