I expect you paid 1 month in advance - most rentals do

So your landlord should pay back your deposit and you should not owe anything

Did you move in on the 24th? if so then you won't owe them anything, make sure you get your deposit back if you paid one.

you should be able to

All that matters is if you are paid up to the day you move out. You should be fine. Just get your security deposit back.

Just as long as you put in your 30 day notice and paid your last month, you should be fine. When you put in your 30 days notice, they should tell you exactly what you owe for that last month. They will also get your forwarding address for your security refund.

Check that your tenancy agreement does not require you to give notice of leaving. If it does have you complied with the notice period?. Also be sure that you receive back any deposits that you paid in advance.

Mary
Cancel it. If you don't they may 'forget' and claim it anyway. Not my agent, but Orange tried to claim an extra payment when I moved, but I'd canceled it so they had to pay it back.

Usually you pay your first month's rent in advance. So you would have paid on (for example) the 24th October when you moved in. This would cover you up to the 24th November. You'd pay again on 24th November, and this would cover you up to the 24th December, etc. So your last rent payment of the 24th April will cover you up until the 24th May, when you move out.

So yes, you are all sqaure! All you will need back is your deposit.
