Hello Everyone,
I am very confused as to which house I should live in. Months ago, I found a room for rent about 35-40 minutes awaynfrom my job and where I currently live. It is an ACTUAL mansion! It is my dream house and to rent a room would be $800 a month. This deal initially fell through because the owner was not sure if she wanted to sell the house to one person, or rent out rooms. I was really sad about that and tried to move on. Now, just a few days ago, I fell in love with another room for rent in a house that is not a mansion- but it is still gorgeous and is in a really safe, gated community and sits on a mountain. It is a Master bedroom with its own bathroom and alot of closet space and is about only 20 minutes from my job. I already told the guy that I wanted it, and I planned on moving in there in just a few weeks. Now, I got an email from the lady who ownes the mansion and she all of a sudden wants to rent out the rooms. What is the right thing to do? Please help me! |

I would go for the room closer to your work. That 20-25 minute difference is huge when you are in a rush for work. Plus, the other room sounds awesome!! Go for it! |

Well, you didn;t sign anything. So its not a legal problem. Make a list of the pros and cons of each place. YOu like them both, however, which place cost more...which is farther...what types of people will be living with you. I am not sure I would want to live room without a kitchen...you have to cook with everyone else..wll that be a problem? What about parking...as well as inviting guest. Where will they sleep. Many many questions about that type living. A list will help you considerly "see" your descion. |

You can do what you want you have no legal obligation to the latter. Once I give my word it is as good as a signed contract I would take the room from the man. Who knows the lady might change her mind again after you move in and sell the house. Then you would have to take whatever you can find. |

Unless you signed something, u have no obligation to the second guy. Go with the mansion- but, gas is high as hell these days. The extra 20 minutes is money down the drain. |

I would rent the Master bedroom that is closer to work. Your own bathroom is very nice, and your commute to work is half the time of the mansion room. |
