Paying Rent?
Do apartment complexes ever take partial rent payments? Say I needed to pay X amount but could only pay Y. Would they let me pay Y, and then the balance mid month plus a late fee? Has anyone ever heard of anything like that happening?

If you are on personal terms with your landlord, you might be able to set up a payment plan. If you can't afford your rent, you need a better job or a cheaper place. Don't try to put off rent for more than a month - they have every right to evict you with no warning, and then you're not gonna be happy.

i've done this before, but they charged a fee. it really depends on the manager's willingness to work with you. in my situation, i had a record of paying on time and i had lived there for over a year.

It depends. Just go and try to make a partial payment and see what happens. The worst thing that can happen is that they say "no."

If you've been a good tenant, they might accept it.

Good luck.

depends upon the property managment company...talk with them and see if they would be willing to work something out

It depends on the landlord. I would think paying something is better then not paying anything at all. Talk to your landlord if your a good tenant and just ran into a rough spot they'll probably work with you

Talk to the landlord, he can make that decision. Some are willing but most aren't.

LOL, what is this, Let's Make a Deal?

It depends on the policies in your complex. Check your lease.

It depends on your landlord's willingness. Send them a partial payment with a signed agreement stating that you will pay the balance and late fee on xx date. Also, your partial payment must meet or exceed the daily rental rate, so Y amount should be more than half the rent.

If you're a new renter or have a history of late payments, I would not bother your landlord asking. Try a payday loan or a short-term loan from a small bank.
