I was renting an apartment with my ex boyfriend and he went to jail; leaving me with 3000 in bills which i paid . My landlord agreed I could continue to live there as long as i could pay rent $900 . i did so on time.... from oct until april... in April the lease was up and i met with my landlord and we came to the agreement that I could stay but we were not signing a lease . I had to take care of a traffic warrent and he said well take care of it soon because I cant have the assoc approv you alone until then. I paid aprils rent and at the end of the month i went to stay with my sister for 2 weeks. While I was away my electric was shut off... I forgot when it was due... he let himself in and emptied my fridge. then he called me and told me because i had a warrent i would be arrested when i came home. I was kept from all of my things and i was still up to date with my rent. then told the association about my legal issue, he called me and said again if i came there to my home i would be arrested!!!! then he said i could no longer stay and [posted a notice while i still stayed over a friends not wanting to be arrested untill i worked things out with my move. i didnt know what to do.... at the same time my ex boyfriend got out of jail. His possessions were collected by his family in october and his lease was finished april 1st. He was physically abusive to me and i told my landlord I did not want him around my place.. he cant leave colorado yet so I put this out of my mind. I agreed over the phone i would move out.... and set a date to pick up my things, I did not want to take care of the warrent until I had my possessions secure... it was only traffic after all...and whenm i finally callled my landlord a week later it was after the first but I was not paying this month because I was not able to continue renting...my landlord said they (my ex's family) had removed everything i owned and wont tell me where it is.... my landord told me he gave my things to my ex ... my ex says the landlord has it . considering his lease ended 2 months begfore and everything there was mine... isnt this illegal? all of my things are gone... my birth cert everything.... I have a warrent and am scared to go in and serve 30 days without resolving this . my ex's family were most def not granted permission.... I was first kept from going home then robbed dont know what to do... ex claims landlord has my trhings still.
