A condo for 40k????? Where do you live?!! Pay it off all at once if you can. |

Probably better to pay for it up front unless; The lender can offer you a low interest rate ....and... you can get at least 2 1/2 % more in interest by investing the $40,000. Many will disagree with me but I never believed in creating debt for myself and paying someone interest when I didn't have to. |

If I were you, I'll pay monthly with mortgage. |

Depends on what you want to do with it...if you want to build credit, pay it on time. If you want instant access to the equity, pay it in full. |

Depends on if your needing to re-do the house or what. You can build your credit if you pay it out or put down a large amount as a down payment to drop interest rate |

depends on your financial situation. If you can afford that in cash, you probably could have rental properties which are a great investment.
Only 40K you better get an inspection on it. Unless where you live you can buy inhabitable houses/condos for that little. |

At this point in time, the mortgage rates are so low you would be making a mistake not to take advantage. Your money will earn much more than the 5.5% rate you can get right now for a mortgage.
This doesn't count though if you have bad credit and can't get a good rate, then pay in full... |

Its good to pay in full unless you want the tax deduction at the end of the year. I have had 4 houses and if I could of ever purchased one out right, I would of.
Good for you! Good luck! |

Depends totallly on WHERE it is located. |

If you can pay it off it's always better to do that way there is no interest on a loan to pay. |

It's up to you - Obviously with a mortgage, you're going to be paying some sort of interest, depending on how you plan on having the loan for. But having a mortgage is a great way to build credit. If you do plan on financing, make sure you find out if there are penalties for paying it off early, which you may want to do eventually with such a low cost.
Congrats on the new home! |

It depends on the interest rate charged by the lender...look at it this way...if its 5% and you can invest your money at 6% then invest it...think about it the other way too...plus your morgage thing is tax deductable at the end of the year.
40K is chump change for a condo...are you sure that is the purchace price or just a down payment....I can't build a garage on my back lot for 40K...something stinks... |
