We pay $1050. 3 bed, 2 bath, decent basement, also a decent neighborhood, live in WI. Not including utilities. Which sucks with Wisconsin winters!! |

My suggestion is to look in the weekend newspapers for apartment rental ads. Also look for free magazines advertising apartments. Compare the location, quality and size with what you are renting. |

2 bed, 1 bath, half basement, lp gas, all original hardwood floors from the 1950's. House is really in great condition on the inside. Landlords just got all new windows put in the entire house last summer. Will be residing the house this coming up summer. It sits on a little over one acre of land. The reason they don't charge too high for rent is because they own 25,000 acres of farm land and 10-12 other houses that they rent out, they really aren't in it for the rent, just the farm land.

If you can swing the down payment it might be cheaper to buy a house. When we moved to our current location we rented a 4BR house for $695 a month. A year later our landlord asked if we wanted to buy the house so we did and our house payments including taxes and insurance come to around $500 a month. |

I pay $1100 for a crappy 3 bedroom townhome in a ski town in Colorado - not including utilities. The chepeast condo in town to buy is $225,000 for a crappy 1 bedroom, so to rent is just as bad. It is really bad here since these shitty landlords havn't updated the places in 30 years and I still have a green fridge...ick! But you pay for where you live and this is the most beautiful place on earth, plus the resort is a mile away. In general I think it is too expensive for what people get paid. |

I've rented a few places over the past 5 or 6 years while I was at university. If I lived in a crappy 3 bedroom house, my roommates and I would probably have paid about $800 + utilities. We lived in a pretty nice 3 bedroom house in a nice neighbourhood one year and we paid $1050 + utilities. |

Best way to find out is go to www.apartmentfinder.com and search for listings in your area and see what they charge for a 3 bedroom apartments. However, if you have a house then you're getting a lot more and so you'll be subject to higher rents than apartments. To be honest you can get a mortgage on a house for less than $1000.00. |

We are currently looking to rent - and we are expecting to pay for the same size house as you mention 3 br, 2 bath, probably basement and garage - deck.... looking to spend from $1500 to 2000. Now, of course it depends on where you are. We are looking either in Rhode Island where we currently live, or move to NH. NH, is much cheaper of course and for $1500, we would be all set.
