Memster | Question for people renting a home? |
Can a landlord enter your home at anytime if it is a rent house and it is technically his property? |

Most of the time it will be stated in the lease that your landlord must give you notice if they will be entering the home. However, your landlord does have the right to enter without notice if there is an 'emergency' situation or emergency maintenance issue and that is usually the landlords discretion. |

I'm pretty sure they have to give you at least 24 to 48 hours notice if you are a renter. Some states laws may differ though. |

You should have it stated in your lease when the landlord may enter. Mine says I will give notice unless it is an emergency or I suspect you are breaking the lease. Like no animals and I hear barking or water is running out the front door. A landlord should respect your right to privacy but does need to get in to make repairs. I would prefer the tenant be home just because I would hate to be accused of taking something. I did live one place years ago and the landlord would come in and go through my things and my roommates and write messages on the mirror in the bathroom. It infuriated me on a regular basis but the solution was to move. And in Texas you have the right to post notices on the inside of the front door such as eviction or lock out notices. |

no he has to give you 24 hours notice. And you can tell him you want to be there. |

They need 24 hour notice. |

I don't think so. I live in a house that is rented. The landlord never comes unless we need something fixed and have called for him to come. |

Should not enter 'anytime' he wants. But can enter without notice if there is an 'emergency". Which can and has been faked by landlords, saying they smelled gas near your front door and went in to inspect. Needs to give you notice,
Should not enter for a scheduled inspection more than twice a year. Some landlords are VERY nosey and will snoop when no one is around. This behavior should not be tolerated by any tenant. If you suspect the landlord or manager is visiting you unannounced, set out little traps or a video camera. It doesnt matter if you are renting a house or apartment. No one wants their privacy invaded. |

That depends on the laws of your state, but generally they cannot enter without giving you prior notice. |

You should read your lease over to see if it mentions it but typically, the owner has a right to enter anytime. If you're still not sure, look up your state tenant/landlord rights on the county govt. page. |

Usually not! check your local rental laws. While you are renting the property is usually considered yours in matters like this.
Usually the landlord has to give you written notice of any repairs etc that needs to be done etc.
Even if you signed a lease that allowed him this right, you may be protected by law.
Check your local tenants laws. |

NO WAY they aren't sopposed to if youve already moved in it and all that . Unless of course you gave them permission or whatever why did it happen to you???? |

The landlord has the right to enter the house. However, they should give you 24hrs notice prior to entering. |

First off the Landlord may not enter the house unless is considered and emergency! Meaning if your out of town and lets say a pipe busts and leaking water, this would be considered an emergency! Secondly, check your lease agreement, in my agrement it stats that once a month somebody will come in to change the air filter at lets say between 1pm - 2pm. Other then what is stated in your lease agreement, NO he cannot enter unless givin permission, or like I said its an emergency! |

No at any cost.
Forget about landlord and all that stuff.
As a citizen of any country, each individual has a right to privacy. No one can breach into your privacy.
you can press some charges on him/her, if you have been a loyal person. If you had given the rent on time, if you have not given any problem to him. He just can 't touch you.
In case he wants the house back, he will have to give you the advance which you would have paid. You need not vacate the house with out getting your money. |
