Question regarding terminating a lease early?
I wanted to terminate my lease early. I asked the property management company if I could buy out my lease. They agreed. I would pay them 4 months rent on the remaining 11 month lease. Will they still report to credit bureaus for breaking the lease early? Can they pursue further claims on me in the future?

Nope. You diddn't end the lease early you just vacated the area early. The property management places love people like you. You just got them double rent for 4 months on that apartment.

No, they won't report that. I would certainly get the settlement in writing. The only way that this would be reported is if legal action is taken against you. Property management compaies aren't credit reporting companies, any legal action judgement would be.

not o my knowlede that they can file any further charges or claims on you but they can be some jerks and report you to a credit bureau but most of the time it cost them extra bmoney to file and they won't so i would go ahead and terminate it and leave on good terms with the lease owner's.

Good News:
They cant report you to any credit bureaus but there is an unlikely chance they can report you to other property management companies. I seriously doubt this since you sound like a good tenant in my opinion... the fact you actually communicate to resolve the potential vacancy is a huge plus for you.

Bad News:
You do have a contract to keep in mind here. This means you can be pursued on it sooner or later. Get new documents to show proof of this new agreement.

Sooo... if this information is all true I suggest you express your new concern the same way you negotiated out of the lease AND get proof. (just my onpinion)

Good LUCK!

Get everything in writing and there is nothing to report.

They agreed so there is no problem for the future. They will probably re-lease the place fairly quickly so they will have 3 or 4 months rent for next to no effort, so they are happy & you are happy to be out of the lease.

red riter
no, the buy out makes it all good.

in fact they probably figure they can collect a little extra this year if they can get it re-rented quickly.

wiremu
Make sure you have written proof of this agreement between u and them, Its legal if they put it on paper and no further claims can ever be made on ur behalf in the future.

Trouble
No, they will not report you to the credit bureaus for breaking the lease early. It was a mutually agreed early termiation and all agreed amounts have been paid in full.

As long as you have the agreement that you came to in writing, they cannot make any claims in the future.
