Hi. I moved over to London a few months ago from Spain. I didn't have a job and got a house. But you do need a months deposit and rent in advance. They usually won't take six months as they think it's dodgy I wouldn't mention that. But you do need to be checked for references. It is easier if you can get a guarantor (someone that will sign to say that they will pay your rent if you don't) the guarantor usually needs to be uk based.
You could try a house share, most of the time as long as you pay rent and deposit they are fine. |

Yes, my ex-flatmate was taken on by the letting agent on the basis that his parents were guarantors. You may also be able to do it if you can put down enough month's rent in advance. |

I can't get a bloody place with a job! It's practically impossible, not just without a job, you also have to have loads of references, even though almost all rented property is leased through agencies who won't give references (or do any repairs or maintenance).
Not to mention that you look unreliable because rising house prices mean that tenants get evicted every 6 months so the land lord can sell the house to someone else who will do the same. If you are over 65, got several illegitimate children, a resent immigrant and just got out of prison then the council or a housing association might give you a flat, other wise it's going to be your mum's couch for the rest of your life. |

Yeah, you can if you pay up front, but then you will also need to provide them with references and or a banking account or someone that knows you in the UK. I have just done this for the last 6 months. I know it is possible. |
