Where do you live? Hopefully you're in a state that is not down on real estate. California for example is on the "downside".
I say go for it. I have a real estate license. I found a broker who will sponsor me.

Be prepared for your first or two year to be financially challenging. Eventually, the market will rebound and you will increase your referral business. The money is there depending upon the market you are in. For example; Florida is a bad market at this time, but will turn around...eventually...You MUST have the capital to wait out the down months/years.. |

Career in real estate can be quite demanding. Your earning is unpredictable. Don't get into it if your only motivation is money. You have to be passionate about helping people because that is what it is all about .

I advise you not to leave your career to pursue Real Estate. Yes depending on your area earning potential can still be rather good however, in some areas its not a good time to invest. What you should try and is just test the water and maybe try to invest in a small property and see how you like the real estate business. You could also consider taking real estate courses and becoming a salesperson if you are looking to get into it. |

NME, hi, in today's housing market i would not advise you to change your career and go into the Real Estate market right now. the housing market has fallen to an unprecedented low and will probably continue to fall. right now would be a very frustrating time for you to go into real estate. however, if the area you are thinking of working in is doing very well then it might prove profitable. if you're in California, right now is not a good time to sell real estate for a career. if you do, make sure you have something to fall back on. |
