Selling our house. How do we make the home information visible to out of state buyers looking to relocate?
We are selling our house. We live in an area that is very conducive to people looking to relocate. We are using an online service (buyhomes.com) and they will post our house on the mls realtor system. I do not believe people from out of state can search on this. Am I correct? Assuming so, how do we make the house visible to the people looking to relocate here from other states? Thanks for your help.

Anyone from anywhere can look up houses at buyhomes.com. I just went there and looked at houses in San Diego. I live in Indiana.

You should be fine, as long as people are looking at buyhomes.com.

You could check with the chamber of commerce in your town and see what they recommend people do when they call for information about moving to the area. If they tell people to check out xyz.com then see if you can get your house listed at xyz.com.

Good luck and I hope you make tons of money!

Of course craigslist is great. I've also found a site called www.homesbylender.com. Another site that could be useful depending on what state you are in, is http://lease2buyusa.com/default.aspx . They help people with slow credit, get into a home through a lease w/option to purchase program and help them get their credit repaired for free. With banks tightening their credit policies, a lease w/option to purchase is one of the few ways people can still sell / buy a home. You just have to be sure the new tennant / buyer has been screened and checked out before you hand over your largest investment to them.

I just did a check on your 'buyhomes.com' website, and it provided information relative to houses I have listed for sale. However, one must search properties selecting the "MLS" option, or you only get properties offered by 'buyhomes.com"

I didn't check whether or not such properties appeared on www.realtor.com.

fixitman
They can see your house from anywhere on the internet.

You also can do it for free on zillow.com and infotube.net

Good luck

wh
Realtor.com is the number 1 site in the USA. Also go to zillow.com it is free. MLS gets downloads to realtor.com check it out.

www.realtor.com

Mel
go to search and put in Free Want Ads and it will give you a list of places you can advertise your house for free.

Wrong.

Anybody who wants to relocate in your area wll be working with a realtor in your area and will have access to your listing. Plus, many realtors allow people to look at MLS through their web site before actually talking to a person.

RedPersianKitty
You really aren't looking to sell your home if you didn't hire a professional. How are people around the world going to see your home if it is only listed on the mls which is only for local realtors to see. CENTURY 21 and Re/Max advertise your home all over the world.

Craigs List........Post ads in newspapers in different cities you want to reach, get in touch with various real estate agents in YOUR area, as that's where they will look.

ONE WORD, OR IS IT TWO WORDS...."CRAIGSLIST"

good luck

I would think they can, but you may want to try listing it yourself on Craigslist. I know it may sound crazy, but if you take a lot of pictures, describe it in detail, give the location or town, stats on the area (crime, schools, etc.), the nearest place to shop etc., this may be a good way to grab someones attention. If possible, list the pros of the area and even the cons. The more info you provide, the better. It's so hard to sell or even rent with the sight unseen. Hope this helps...good luck.
