Last week I went into a meeting with 2 housing officers to put me onto red band (high priority) because I share a box room with my daughter and I also live with my mum and dad and sister. When they were doing the risk assesment form they said before they put me on red band they need to send it off to the main office to be authorised but she then said she shouldnt see why it would be a problem. Today I sent them an email to see if it was being processed and they called me but I missed the call and she left me a message. The women who left the message didnt seem to know what she was talking about as she said there is no medical reason to be red banded. This wasnt a decision I am guessing she didnt read my notes properly because im overcrowded. I have looked at there allocations policy and it states

• Ensure that those in the greatest housing need are prioritised e.g. applicants whose living conditions are unsanitary, overcrowded or in unsatisfactory housing conditions.

And also before the meeting they rang me to come in to be red banded. When I asked what the reason is to be red banded because I thought It was only for medical and they said its because of my needs due to overcrowding.....so if they now turn round and say its wrong I will go mad because I went to the meeting for nothing and they have got my hopes up!!!
