I have a pretty bad german roach infestation, I have exterminated professionally 4 times and there still are german roaches in my apartment. I have used raid, boric acid, and also exterminated. Should I just cut my losses and throw away all my furniture? Is there any way to vacuum it so there won't be anymore roaches inside it? I have a nice rocker that I would like to keep.

It works great.. I bought a 75 room dorm in a college town, Had about 45 Chinese and other foreign students. Roaches everywhere. I had several "Profesional" sprayers try to get rid of them,, Hell they would drop on your head as you walk down a hallway at night..
I got some MAX FORCE from the web , about $10 a tube, and put a few little squeezes in each room, and kitchen,, Those suckers were gone in a week... One Chinese guy told me he got used to them in his room, and only complaint is that they would not help pay his rent... LOL
Everything you have is full of these things.. tv, cloths, microwave and maybe even you mp3 player or ear phones. Save your stuff,,, |

I would get rid of it. You have tried every possible way to get rid of them and nothing worked. Don't bring them into your new apt. |

NOPE! The roach eggs will be deep in the stuffing of anything with fabric on it. Maybe you can talk to someone who does reupholstery to see if they can save the rocker for you. |

Oh that really sucks! I think that I would unfortunatly cut my losses when I moved it just isn't worth it to get them in your new place. |

It would seem to me that if the chair you so want to keep was encased in plastic and set in the sun for awhile the roaches would die...have you done research on this species? Since you are in an apartment I am guessing that someone else who has not bothered to exterminate has a terrible problem....where's the landlord? This is his responsibility! |

yes, I would. You could probably keep your mattress, but not the box springs. Most of your electronics probably have them in there, because for some reason roaches like electronics. I'm sure you could keep the rocker if you vacuumed it really well. Anything wood should be ok. You should check your state tenant laws. There might be something in there about roach infestation, and you might be able to sue your landlord for loss of your property because of the infestation if you informed him/her of it properly. |
