Have you tried putting posters up on phone poles saying you have a free cat. Maybe some extreme cat lover will take the cat. |

keep trying to get him a home, and if that fails and you don't want to part from the cat, then consider moving to a feline friendly neighborhood. |

If you keep the cat and get evicted, then the cat will be on the streets anyway. If you hadn't "saved" the cat, then it would have died long before now on its own. If you can't find a place to move which will take cats within the amount of time you'd have to move, then the cat will end up on the streets.
I hate to say this, but unless you can find a place to live which will allow you to have a cat, then you should consider putting the cat down and console yourself that at least you gave him extra time and companionship. Just dumping him outside is giving him a slow death and infecting other cats, too, which would be crueler. And this should teach you to consider the consequences of your actions before doing anything. Good intentions sometimes create the worst problems and cause more harm than good. Knowing that you weren't allowed to keep animals in your apartment should have kept you from taking this as far as you did. I do not envy you having to make a decision. |

Try www.craigslist.com and post exactly what you posted here in your question. In the meanwhile, I would just hide the cat inside my apartment and lie to the manager and say you got rid of it. I have 5 cats and I'd would let my apartment evict me before I ever got rid of my cats. The apartment has to give you written notice of an eviction, that should give you time to find a new apartment. |

Well...personally, I'd get myself evicted! I mean, it's a life, my cat gave me years of happiness before she passed away and I wouldn't have put her down for trillions of pounds! And th cat has done nothing wrong, she/he has done nothing to deserve death. It's your power and your desision to have it put down, the cat has no choice, you'd be pretty much killing an innocent cat. But, that's my opinion. |

thats weird that shelters wont take the cat
but it looks like your gonna have to keep it, & dont tell the lanldlord just say its a neighbors cat & you always feed it if he asks
unless you wanna kill an innocent little creature that was put in your way so youd help it
I would keep it |

Just put the cat back outside. It was a stray to begin with and will do just fine. It's better than killing it at least. |

Which would you rather have?
Would you rather be put to sleep or left to starve on the streets?
It's a sad fact of life, but when I pick up strays that is where I take them. |

You are going to let a terminally-ill cat get you kicked out of your house? I'm sorry but I wouldn't have had to waste a second mulling that one over. Put the cat out of its misery. |

Emotions aside, the best thing to do for this cat is to euthanize it. It is really hard to keep a cat inside all the time and it is especially hard for a new owner to devote that much attention to where the cat is every time the door opens. No one is going to take in a sick cat.
Life's tough. |

If you are truly attached to the cat, you will get a new place to live. If you aren't, see if the vet would take the cat. DONT KILL THE CAT |

Kill the cat. I'd rather not have a cat than not have a home. |

Artards, shes not gonna freaking kill her cat... she specifically stated that she was against euthanasia.
Anyways, use the internet to your advantage. Try to get assistance in getting like a blog or website going where you can put the cat up for adoption, or go to a website that offers those services.
I cant think of any websites, since i have no knowledge in that area, but google should be able to turn up a million results :p |

nonononono no way DO NOT kill the cat. killing th cat is like killing someone who has a chance to live a perfectly normal life and you kill it and it could hv been under the care of you. cats are gd companions and seriously IF YOU LOVE THE CAT YOU WOULD DO ANYTHING FOR IT,WOULDNT YOU?
i really like you cos you love animals and you've got a grt heart but if you kill him you are destroying a life and that makes you heartless. so pls okay pity the cat and dont kill it! it deserves a life too! and if you've really decided to kill it,pls put it back on the road instead. |

Hi. You should see if you can find someone to take the cat. You can post on craigslist or in the newspaper. I think that is better than your other options. Also, tell your landlord that you are working on getting rid of the cat and show him or her your progress. If he or she knows you are trying then perhaps he or she will give you more time to resolve the situation. |

Tough situation. Tell the vet that if he doesnt euthanize the cat you will be forced to let it go because you arent allowed to own pets in your apartment. If he says no then tell him you are going to release the cat. Let him decide. |

Personally, I'd tell the landlord that the cat got away and keep the cat in hiding... but I've done that with a cat before in the past to save his fluffy little life. I agree that its a horrible thing to have to put down an animal that is currently happy and I certainly applaud you for doing the service of trapping and neutering cats, thats just awsome. You may want to tell the landlord that the cat has been gotten rid of and continue to search for a new home for the cat through venues of classified adds and the like. Many people are very open to the idea of rescuing cats who have less than perfect health just to give them some good years of a happy home rather than speedy euthanization. You may also consider researching local pet rescues that can keep the cat in proper isolation while they search for a home. I know pet rescues of that nature exist here in Delaware and Maryland, but I don't know about your state. By all means, good luck and thank you for caring about your animals! |

No do not kill your cat. Keep looking for shelters like the humane society. Killing cats for no reason is animal cruelty and it is wrong. |
