Should I move in a trailer or an apartment?
I have a really good deal on a trailer but an apartment would be less of a hasel. I am 19 years old and need to know if moving into an apartment would be a better start than living in a trailer for the first time in the real world.

apartment-
Seriously I have lived in both-
What matters is your attitudes and behaviour-not what your residence is built of...

living in an apt. is a better idea. plus i think you will enjoy it more.

Well if I lived where hurricanes hit all the time and stuff like that I buy a home or rent a apt. Other then that mobiles are really nice.

The first answer was right on. If you want to do the work, then a trailer would be better since you are building equity in something (you can sell it when you leave, nice for a down payment on a real house) Rent for an apartment goes right into the landlord's pocket never to return.

However, it is much easier to own an apartment if you aren't used to being on your own. Much less hassle not to mention the stigma of trying to bring a date to a trailer...
But if you are fine with the work and living in a trailer, then thats the wise choice especially if you have a good deal.

I would go for the apartment, unless the trailer is alot more cheaper.

but not if you live in California, you don't want a trailer.

Trailers are ok for other states, but they get torn apart by tornados.

I think it depends on LOCATION, and trailer condition/age!

well, with a trailer you can write off mortgage interest and property taxes when you file income taxes and that is a nice benefit (that is if you are purchasing it). but if you are not going to be there to maintain the place and are not ready to take care of home repairs, then i'd say save up money and rent longer until you are ready for the responsibility. home ownership is a big responsibility and can be very expensive.

IN A TRAILER, IT IS CHEAPER AND IS GOOD FOR YOU TO START OUT WITH. GOOD LUCK!!

depends on whether it's a trailer park or not (can have nasty crowds/crime there often); on a piece of land, a trailer's great.
Apt might be better as a first alone ever thing, so you don't have to go crazy repairing stuff in the trailer, and have some neighbors for emergencies.

WELL depending on where you are will also depend on what you pay...getting a trailer you have to cover paying 4 land, possible water pump, tree cutting, mortgage, and regular bills to boot and the trailers itself usually will run you up from 20,000 to 100,000 or better...apts are definitely easy...just don't be and idiot like me and come to NYC ...rent here is a doozy especially on ya 1st round out...lol talk about a virgin breaker...lmao...good luck

For the first time I'm going to give a smarta$$ awnser. If you want to live in a Trailor, make sure it's a two story double wide. Also, if you have all your own teeth, some may need to be removed just so you fit in with other in the trailor park. BTW why do they call them apartment if there all stuck together.
