CAMSU | Should i break my lease to move in a house? |
I have until August with my current lease. My brother in law is leaving this beautiful house empty, but the owner wants someone there to help with her mortgage. Do I break my lease and move into my dream house or tough it out while the house gets sold to someone else? |

Talk to your current landlord and tell him your situation. If the landlord is lenient enough, you might be able to break your lease without burning a bridge. I recently broke a lease to move into a house and was asked to pay another month's rent so my landlord was covered while looking for another tenet. If you can go this route, I'd say go for it, otherwise it's not worth the problems you create by breaking a lease. |

Usually you can give a notice, which I would, move and then pay rent on the apartment till you are out of the lease
See, if you break the lease incorrectly apartments share data (as insurance companies), so downstream you may need to rent and this could pop up
In sum, tread carefully |

Tell the current landlord to keep your deposit and go for it. You're probably young so your credit report and reputation will recover eventually. |

Breaking your lease can mess up your credit rating, as it did mine when my step-son and friends broke their lease while he was at college, and his mother and I weren't even married at the time he broke the lease. The credit people cleared my credit rating since it clearly had nothing to do with me, BUT, just be aware it can effect your credit rating, so, try to work it through with your landlord. God Bless you. |

Usually if you are renting and you want to move out to move into a house there is a way to get out of your lease. Just talk to a real estate agent and they should be able to help. |
