You already answered this question. The economy is bad, go home live with them go back to school, get more education so that when the economy is ready, you'll be ready for it.

Yes, move in with your parents if your in a position where you can't afford your lifestyle, save up some cash, pay off your debt, and save so you don't get in debt again.

Move in with your parents and go back to school. You don't say how old you are, but it would be nice if everyone could respect everyone's space as adults. I would hope they would treat you like an adult, and not like a child. Our son moved back home when he was thirty-ish, and we've been able to treat each oher as adults. At first we worried because he would go out at night, and we would not know when he was coming home. But we tried to never nag or ask. Now, it's gotten so that if we go out at night, he scolds us if we don't tell him where we are going and how long we are going to be gone, and call him on the phone when we are walking out to get in our car. When you're living at home, you need to help with housecleaning, food, laundry, all the normal household stuff.

Yeah, move back home.
Unless you want and can find a roommate to share the rent, but then it's still a one bedroom. But maybe you could do that til the lease is up....

Stop borrowing. You can't afford to pay it back. Break your lease, if you must, and deal with it yourself.

Break the lease and move home

Break your lease the right way and you won't have to pay that $2k.

State and local laws govern your situation. If you can convince your landlord to let you out, the lease can end tomorrow!

Looks like You're gonna have to. And THAT's not going to be any "Picnic"- either! :( The "Moral of this Story" IS; Never move in with somebody ELSE- unless You're SURE You can afford to Stand on Your Two Feet...

You had to learn the hard way that things don't always work out, and you need to have a clear understanding of what things are going to cost before you make any commitments. You are correct in recognizing that you need to do something right away. First, if you have not discussed the matter with your parents, you should do so at once. They might be able to help you with the "break the lease" problem. You're not really anxious to go two thousand dollars into debt, but the situation will not improve with time. If your parents cannot help with the $2000 (and you must insist that it is a loan, and you must mean it. Pay them back!) then, yes, borrow the money from elsewhere. If you are working, set up a schedule to pay off the credit cards and save some money. Even if you put only $25 a month into a bank account, it will add up. And stop using the credit cards until they are paid off. Don't say you can't do it, because you can. I've done it, and I know that it is totally possible to live without lots of stuff you think of as "necessary." Learn the difference between "want" and "need." You have had an experience with financial problems early enough that it has not been a disaster, but it has provided a wonderful opportunity to learn and avoid becoming an "older person who lost his house and has no savings" story. Good Luck!

I think you answered your own question on where to live.

It is more expensive to live away from home than most young adults realize.

There must be some way to get ot of the lease without paying $2000. I wouldn't pay that. You'll give up your security deposit, but they probably won't sue you for the $2000.

Go back to school. Now I've made some really dumb mistakes, worse than yours, so I'm not diisrespecting you or putting you down, but ASSUMING yor boyfriend would move in - wasn't that a mistake?

You did not say for how much longer your lease obligates you.

Why not consult with your parents, they have some life experience.

I hope that if you have the luxury to move back to your parents, that you will find a way to thank them. And if you live there, go to school
and get at least a part time job and save some money that someday
you can afford your own place and pay your own bills.

If you make an effort to get a good re-start, your life should be good.
Do not look for a boyfriend or girlfriend to share the bills. Not good.

This is life as an adult. I would suggest you do not incur any more debt and if you can get out of your lease head home and give it another try. Learn from the lesson here though and always have a back up plan no matter the circumstance.
