Should you tell a landlord about a broken window that you fixed?
it was our fault we broke it but we replaced it a day after we did it. we are new to renting.

If you fixed it, no need to mention it!

You are a great renter for repairing it yourself and also for even being concerned about it, most people would'nt.

Ultimately, landlords just want the place to be in the same or better condition when you move out...that's all!

kj
There's no reason to.

FoxForceFiveVega
Nah..no need to tell them, you fixed it, they will never know. I have had broken windows that I broke and made my landlord fix them! lol! I just pretended like I didn't know what happened to it and it just appeared broken one day..so he fixed it!

Say nothing. You've replaced the window, everything is as it should be. Your landlord doesn't need to know.

Landlord
There is no need to mention it.

it's up to you, but there really isn't any reason too. since it was your fault, you would have had to pay for it anyway. i wouldn't worry about it.

kelly
don't tell him, y'all broke it then it is your responsiblity to fix it, upon him renting the place to you the window was whole not broken.

I would let him know. It shows responsibility. It would also allow him to inspect to make sure it was done right, so that there is not a problem later.

If you were my tenant, I would thank you for being responsible and it would earn you "brownie points".
