Definitely cheaper here. My brother in law's girlfriend lives in ireland, and her home costed 350 k. My husband and I just bought a 3 bedroom home with a full basement and attached garage, the home is about 20 years old in good condition. We paid....$70,000 u.s. dollars for ours. It really depends on where you move to. California is high, texas is low, tennissee is low, illinois is high, minnesota is average, Wisconsin is average (that is where I live). Do some research online. |

LOL - the U.S. is big - and the property values vary from state to state - and even within a given city.
You can pay over a million for a three bedroom in L.A., CA
You can get a three bedroom here in New Haven, CT for about 300,000.
You can get a three bedroom in some rural areas for $50,000.

This USA is a gigantic country- but the median price is around $250,000 (about 133,500 pounds). That would get you a nice 3bd in a nice area in Texas, or a barely livable 3bd in a barely livable area in California. |

The median home cost is around $225,000.00. But that's a meaningless number, really. In some parts of the country it may be accurate, but in others it will be way low (LA, New York City, Boston, etc. where anything liveable in a decent neighborhood is going to cost 2 - 3 times that at least) and in others it would be very high (in Joplin, MO, for example you can get a decent place for less than $100k and something very nice for under $200k.) |

please be advised that home values are different throughout the United States and vary per state and county. There is no "average" value. A three bedroom home in North Carolina can be bought for anywhere from $70k and higher, while the same size home in Bergen county NJ starts at a minimum of $700k. Your question is really too broad for an exact answer and would need to be based on the location of the home in regards to state, county, acreage, distance to major cities, etc... |

It difers by state. The best thing to do is go onto www.homeseekers.com and search there listings in the city you are interested in. In California homes a decent home goes for $300,000+, in New York(not city) they are from $250,000 and in Illinois $150,000. It just depends on the age of the house, style, city, county,etc. Good luck! |

The dirt cheap areas are few and far between. They are not areas a foreigner probably thinks of when thinking of the USA. Have fun living in Texas or Utah if you go ahead and buy a decent 3 bedroom for 100k.
Here in Southeastern Connecticut (halfway between New York and Boston) 2 and 3 bedrooms START in the upper 100s. One in a good neighborhood, in good condition... you're looking in the 300k neighborhood for a modest home.
