lina inverse | Thank you gift for my realtor? read on...? |
i want to give her something to express our appreciation.
a decade of good advice is beyond price.
yeah yeah, i know she gets a commission. but i want to do something else.
what would you suggest? she's naturally frugal in her own tastes, so nothing would impress her regarding name brands or gift cards, but i do want to give something personal and appreciative. |

A nice dinner or night out may be fun. I applaud your consideration. By the looks of some of your answers people don't respect what actually goes into being a Realtor. Besides the classes and tests they must pass, there are many months driving looky looes around without a sale. It still costs them their time and gas, not to mention many have to rent the desks they work from and that could be as much as $5k per month, then there is the phone bills and the calls at all hours. After the whopping commission is split up, they may make $3,000.00 out of the $10,000.00 which is a living so don't let these folks make you think you are a sap. There should be more considerate people like you, the world would be a better place. |

A testimonial about her services would be a good choice.
Send a copy to her manager. |

A gift card for gas! No actually any gift card will do. |

send her for a day at a spa, that would be very personal and any woman would love a day of pampering |

I'd go with a gift certificate for a nice dinner out...if she's frugal of her own taste and not much for "stuff", giving a gift of an experience seems less wasteful. |

a small bunch of flowers and a short note saying you appreciate her work and would recommend her to others wholeheartedly (with a little footnote say she is welcome to use your letter to promote her work) should be adequate and neither too formal or over friendly. That is what I may do for my council people (Elmbridge is responsible for this little part of Surrey) as they are trying so hard to help me that their recent ad in a local paper stops short of naming names but is so obviously an all out attempts to find my son and I wheelchair adaptable
accom; it is amazing! |

How about a new car? |

I second taking her and her spouse out for a nice dinner and Gary's idea of a testimonial. Offer to be a reference for new and uncertain clients of hers. Mostly, refer your friends and co-workers to her. I, personally, do a lot of business based on referrals from trusted friends, family, and co-workers. Even if it ends up being only a few extra sales for her, it's still commission she probably wouldn't have gotten if you hadn't told others about your great experience with her. |

Realtors spend a lot of time in their car... I think a wonderful gift would be a prepaid gas card for whatever dollar figure you decide. As a realtor or anyone living in today's economy that would be great. Come up with a creative way to package and gift it to her. If you don't like that try coupons for car washes. Their car is their office. |

How about a nice organizer in a nice leather pouch, sort of like a notebook inside a leather case that looks like a book with a zipper?
Like this one: http://www.amazon.com/Day-Timer-Handheld-Leather-Computer-Binder/dp/B00006IDI8/ref=pd_bbs_7?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1207597683&sr=8-7
or this one: http://www.amazon.com/Franklin-Leather-Monthly-Weekly-Organizer/dp/B000UXUD6S/ref=pd_bbs_1?ie=UTF8&s=office-products&qid=1207597737&sr=8-1
You might even get one customized with her name or initials on it.
I hope this helps.
Have fun |

Maybe you could take her, (if married her husband too) out to dinner and present to her a plaque that says, " Thanks for a decade of good advice, from ????" to hang on her wall (or something like that). |

send her a card. maybe add a little thankyou note, just so she know's who it's from. she might think it a little strange if she doesnt know who it's from.
that would be it from me. in fact, after 10 years, she should be buying you something in return for those fat commissions... she should be trying to keep hold of your custom afterall. |
