I lived on my own for a year and loved it. You get your own routine, the TV is yours, you have more privacy and no-one messes up your house. If I had not fallen pregnant I would have lived on my own for a long time. The only negative point is that it has been hard to live with someone after living alone and having to put up with their habits after always having things just the way I liked them. |

i would suggest that you live on your own for a while snd see if you feel lonely or not. if so get another or the same roommate until you think you're ready to try again. |

Probably be OK for a bit but there will be times of being bored and lonely. |

You will be happy on your own. I was on my own for about 6 years. I could eat when and what I liked, go to bed when it suited me, didn't have to have crap programmes blaring away on the television. I could smoke without being nagged about my health. There was hardly any housework or washing to do and the electric, gas and Council Tax bills were lower. I never got lonely and if I was bored I had friends to talk to or hobbies to keep me occupied. All this changed when I met a 36 year old man 3 years ago. To cut a long story short, I let him move in about 2 weeks ago and have regretted it ever since. I can't wait to be rid of him and be on my own again. He's disrupted everything. He said if he moves out I'll be lonely so I told him my neighbour would miss him more than me! Just do it, and if you feel lonely anytime you can always go out for a drink with your mates or invite them to your home. |

it will be a big culture shock to be on your own for a little while but i am sure you will be fine, if you are concerned about that factor perhaps it is not the best idea to be in the same place and have your friend move out, you will be constantly thinking about the good old times, the company etc. I would recommend a fresh new start! xx |

The main question is will you get bored? and this depends on your character. If you want to live on your own make sure you are socialising a lot with others, meeting your mates, going to sport clubs/night clubs, hobbies etc and you won't. but if your a laid back person it may not be a good idea.
Remember you don't need to make your decision and stick with it if it goes wrong, so I would make a back-up plan and then see if living on my own works out. If it doesn't there is always plan B. |

It depends on your preferred lifestyle.
You will be alone when you want to but not necessarily lonely |

I've lived on my own for the past six years. It's weird at first, but you can do whatever you like whenever you like.
I think living alone has made me a bit selfish as I'm used to doing what I want.
It can get lonely too, but there's always the phone (or the pub).
Anyway, I've decided to share again and have started to look around. |

I lived on my own for a year, didn't like it at first and every noise at night used to scare me to death!
After a while I got used to it though and as long as you are at ease with your own company it is fine. I'm living with my fiance now which is a bit different but, apart from him, I'd never share a house again. |
