What's the best way for me to find a place to live in this situation?
I'm 17. In January, I turn 18 and I need to move out of my parent's house then. The thing is that for Fall 2011, I'll be moving to a dorm rooom at university (in the same state).
But for January - August of 2011, I need to find somewhere else to live. I live in a city where the housing is cheap but I don't know if I could get an apartment to live in for only 8 months because I'm pretty sure they only do leases for 1 year. I'm thinking of maybe renting a bedroom in someone's house. I want to find the cheapest way.
What's the best (and cheapest) way for me to find a place to live in this situation?
There is a website roommates.com that you can live with someone or rent your own place ask for a short term lease. tell them up front why you need a short term lease. People might be willing to work with you.
Good luck
