They have pretty complicated formulas, I expect. (Sometimes they ignore the formulas, so we have a foreclosure crisis.) Anyway, some of the factors are your income, how long you have been with your current employer, your savings & investments, your credit score, and your credit history (any bankruptcies, court judgments, bad debts written off, etc.). There are probably others I'm not thinking of or don't know about. Some things they're not supposed to consider (in the U.S.) are age, sex, marital status, race, and religion. |
