modular homes, i think. everything is pre-cut and they just throw it up on your property. check them out through a search engine--they have some pretty amazing ones out there and my dad said that now days they are much better built.

There are two types:

Manufactured-This is like a double wide and has a VIN number. They bring it out to the property and take the wheels and axles off and use tie downs.

Modular-This is a pre-built home. They make it into sections and put it together on site.

If you buy this kind of dwelling, the odds of ever refinancing are slim to none. Be careful in buying this type of dwelling.
Most mortgage companies will not refi this type of home and the value of it drops by 45% within the first year.
