What building society or bank will give a 60 year old man a 25 year mortgage?

Nearly all will grant you an 'interest only' mortgage... I've got an older relative who was 66 when she had such a mortgage granted. It's nothing to do with age, really, because as long as the property on which you have the mortgage is worth at least enough, when sold, to repay the loan, you can die the day after the loan is granted and the bank/BS is covered. Naturally, the BS/bank will need proof that you can service the loan - but you wouldn't be applying unless you could, would you?! Of course, you'll find it a trifle difficult to get a 95 percent mortgage (of any sort) on a £250,000 property at 65!! PS Try the Halifax... I know they are helpful (I'm nothing to do with them by the way!).

An optomistic one

I believe any lender will give a 60 year old man a 25 year. They can not discriminate based upon AGE! It is the law!

It wont happen very easily!! You will need alot of equity & some sort of guarantees of payment.

Nationwide BS (amongst others) do offer a mtg for retirement age - however if you were to die within this period you may need a gaurentor (ie family) that will pay the remainder!

You can buy certain life insurances that may pay out upon death but these are going to be deemed as high risk & will charge a phenominal price per month!!

Proof of financial worth would do the trick for most lenders. In other words, if you can pay for the house with cash, they'll lend you the money.

confused
sorry to say its very unlikely you will get one at all...

Almost any provided you have a younger guarantor who will pay the mortgage if you happen to die prior to paying it off.

lol. unethical ones. they know that if he dies, they will get to auction off his house and keep all the money

BB (British Bank) and GB (Great Building) Society will give 25 years mortgage to 60 years old man.

No Deposit, No Fees.
No monthly instalment...

But you have to paid your Council TAX, National Insurance, Income TAX... This term and condition is not applied for disability people, lazy people (who likes govt. money rather than work).
