Sorry you do not have the highest gas, as of today I am paying $4.10 a gallon for the cheapest regular. All you can do is combine trips, if you have to go out shopping do it in one trip. Share rides with neighbors. Do not drive all over trying to find cheaper gas. Ensure your car is properly tuned and that you are keeping the tires inflated to your manf. recommended level. Watch your speed, your engine uses 25% more gas traveling at 75 than does 55. It is going to get worse so talk to neighbors about making combined trips for the neighborhood and then you repeat for them. The outlook is gloomy and I wish you luck. |

Both parties and bought and paid for by big oil, so they do nothing to stop the price gouging.
Voter third party...it s not much, but you have to start somewhere |

The average American can dramatically change their standard of living by starting a Home Based Business and bringing in some extra cash to the household budget.
Having a strong work ethic and being high energy will be the best characteristics you can have during this time.
Alongside the extra cash, when tax time comes--you can enjoy a significant amount of deductions on things that you already use in your daily life such as utilities and GAS!
That way you get more of yoru hard earned money back.
Good luck. |

Until a revolution starts and people decide not to use gas, prices will not go down significantly.
It's called supply and demand.
Elimate the demand and gas will be cheaper. |

I feel your pain!!! i live a 30 mile round trip to "town" We car pool, and limit trips to town. It calls for a lot of planning, "Do we have enough toliet paper, diapers, milk?" or going w/out for a while. |

You can try carpooling to work. |

Ride a motorcycle it takes less gas, or a bicycle. |

Organize a group of people who only buy from one gas company. If you get enough people to only buy from this one station, the surrounding gas stations will be forced to lower their prices or go out of business. Once they have lowered to a level that you can afford, start to slowly buy from the others. If you do it progressively, the gas station where you were solely buying from will start to lower their prices due to the competition. Do not do it too quickly or else they will just start to raise their prices again. |

Buy a geo metro, or something with great gas mileage, until someone comes out with a affordable electric car. |

How much is gas there? Ours lowest today is 3.54 (North
Carolina) And I agree with you its eat or put gas in the car.
We try to do all our shopping and bill paying and miscellaneous
on the same day so we don't waste gas doing a little one day
and then the rest another. It helps a little bit but I don't know
what else to do (other then walking and some of the places
are quite a ways away and I don't know if I could walk that far). |

I suppose you could find people to carpool with-because you still have to drive. Otherwise I would suggest buyng a decent bike. That's probably not possible, though, given your location. Don't give up, though, because the entire country is feeling this, even here in Central America. Something's gotta give! |

Find an alternet sollution. research and find wat you could use. if your smart, help make your own, if ur avarage, try bio desel, ethinal(You dont get as much miles as you do in normal gas), and others. |

practical thinking

In reality, nothing. Those greedy oil barons love their money and they're going to gouge the American public for all they can. Short of coverting to biodeisel and making your own fuel, or stealing one of those experimental fuel cell cars, or ethanol cars, you're out of luck. Anything that runs on a petroleum based fuel is going to cost you a lot in fuel. Congress asked them why the prices were so high while showing greater profits, and we got nothing. So if even the government cannot do anything, what makes you think a single person can do anything? |

In the short term, there isn't much we can do except drive the most fuel efficient cars we can afford, and then DEMAND that our elected representatives stop kissing up to the oil industry. Our entire national energy policy is little more than an oil industry financial assistance program. If even 30% of Americans wrote or called their congresspersons and demended that change, you'd see gas prices drop like a rock. |

There is nothing at all a person can do about gas prices. Have you considered car pooling? |

It is becoming a national tragedy. You can write your senator and view your opinions to him. Write your congressmen and women, and write the president. You can try and get alot of people to sign your letter and send it also, The more we all stick together on this the better chances we may have of fighting it. I think that it is actually a war tactic and that it is to take America down any way it can, and gas is the one source that would cause alot of ill effects. Im in agreement with lowering our gas prices and stoppping this war. |

i think that people should get together and go on a strike but not just in your state...they or we should do it in every state and at the same time |

Don't give up! Carpool, walk , buy a bicycle. I know there is little, if any, public transportation in Arkansas from experience. Just don't give up! Good luck and GO RAZORBACKS!! |

I live in Norway and gas is approximately 9 dollars a gallon over here!
I like what others said on here. Car pooling to work which was something I was going to also suggest. Know of anyone going your direction to work? Go with someone when you go shopping..take turns driving.
Walk to where you want to go..take a bicycle if it's not too extremely far away. Get a moped. |

Take public transit. Seriously!
You should see the price of gas in Cali.
I paid $4.00 a gallon yesterday! |
