It's a whacking big room (or maybe a teeny room) that has everything in it.
Great if you like to cook in front of your guests so you can chat to them - not so great if you don't like the chat or you tend to get chaotic and don't want them to witness you accidentally dropping the chicken then shoving it back on the serving platter.......

When describing homes, "open" means just that, open area. In this case the dining area and the kitchen are not separated by a wall with a door in it, but rather they are more like part of the same room. The "lounge" means the kitchen has more of a casual design - probably a sit-up bar with stools or the like.
A bay window is a window that protrudes from the building, creating a window that wraps around the room. Most likely the dinning room table is sitting there with windows on at least two sides.
