What do you pay for an apartment rental or mortgage where you live?
I've mostly been in the "weddings" category because I'm getting married this Summer. YAY!

A lot of people ask questions about how much you're paying for certain things and the difference is just so huge. I think a lot of it is based on where you live and the cost of living for that particular area.

Where do you live & how much do you spend on rent or mortgage?
Additional Details
WOW! I'm in Huntington Beach, CA and I pay $1550/mo for a 2 bedroom apartment. And that's a deal! Rent is less because they don't take care of the place & my fiance fixes anything that breaks on his own.

I live in Alabama, a 2 bedroom apt will cost you an average of $450.00 per month, and a mortgage on a $140.000 home will cost you about $550.00 - $625.00 per month depending on your credit and down payment. Here in Alabama you get more for your money. I Love it! but, the cost of living is so different and the wages are lower, Better if you're retired or have a steady income every month that you can depend on.

In DFW, TX, $745/mo. for 910 sq ft 1 bedroom apt (does not include any other bills). Complex has a nice fitness room, pool, and business office of some sort, and we can use the apt. manager's fax and copying machines any time we want for "free."

in the phoenix area...moved out of an apartment last year that cost 806/month, was about to go up to 950/month. my husband and i found a three bedroom, two-story house that was being rented privately, and we got it for 1050/month before tax. but that is highly unusual. we were looking at about the same square footage for about 1300+/month (and most of those were less sq. footage). things here are pretty expensive because we're growing really fast and it's so close to cali.

WOW, I had no idea rents could be so cheap! I live in New Hampshire and my rent on a 2 bedroom in a complex is $1000 a month, I pay all utilities. But THEY shovel and plow all the snow so this winter I figure I made out and next summer while I am lying next to the pool that they clean and maintain I will also feel I am making out!

I live in Cincy, Ohio and we pay $850 a month for our 3 bedroom house. Roughly about 1700 sq ft. We live in a decent suburb but less than a mile from me, well more like 3 blocks, a house will go three to five times more than what we pay. Yeah it is definitely all in where you live. I have a friend here who use to live in Glendora and huntington beach at one time out there and the prices she told me she paid were astronomical. I though how could anyone live with rent that high, but I guess people make more money in those places too?
