i would either get an electronic drum set, which wont make near as much noise. or sound proof the drums. u can buy muffling pads for the drums and cymbals that make them quiter, and also u can get sticks that are quieter for drumming.
but i would tell the landlord, becuase u might get kicked out for all the noise. |

Best you tell him up front. This will limit your number of rentals, but will save lots of trouble in the future. |

To me it would be best to tell them up front , this way you dont move in and then they find out and say move , this would be terrible to find a nice place and then have to pack up and move again . |

Definitely don't keep it a secret.
He could ask you to move after you move in if other tenants start to complain. They are paying rent also and I don't think it was there intent to move into a disco.
If someone with a motorcycle moved in next door and kept reving the engine you might not appreciate it either.
I would be upfront so as to avoid any possible misunderstanding later on (for you and for landlord) |

well first.....i would try puting the drum in a basment if not then the highest floor.....2nd is u no you can get an electric drum that doesnt make any noise........ or try make the room sound proof as much as u can in a simple way (no need to build too much stuff) u can probably find out how to from google |

you might want to mention it to them and tell them that he won't pay past 10:00 or 9:00. he has a right to play....i play guitar, but not past 10. sometimes i hear their radio on past 11, so maybe you will have understanding landlords, but don't try to hide anything because that seems a little deceitful and you don't want to start off any relationship that way. |

For the cost of renting an apartment you can actually rent a home. Try locating one just outside your town, the good news is that it will probably be cheaper. Good luck. |
