Until my next paycheck, I can only pay about half of the rent. What do you think I should tell them and what will they do? |

The truth is always best. Just explain your situation and they will probably work with you. |

Tell them now. Pay what you can. Creditors are used to deadbeats not paying their bills, lying and avoiding them. Be up front and honest with them. Don't make any promises you can't keep. I'll bet they cut you some slack. Their alternative is to have to rerent the apartment and come after you for past payments. Believe me, they will cut you some slack. |

a lot of people understand this (once) so just tell them the truth. Be honest, and apologetic and ask if it would be ok to give them the rest on your payday. Then, make sure you do. |

Tell them the Truth.
That's so rare that most folks are impressed and will give you some slack.
Bear in mind that if they do evict you, they have to find another tenant. They'd probably rather give you the time and see if you keep your word. |

Be honest and tell them as soon as possible. If this is the first time you've been late, they will probably be lenient-- especialy if you pay half of the month and pay the other half before you reach the second half of the month-- they're still getting their money ahead, technically. |

Tell the the truth.
What they'll do depends on them, how good of a renter you've been, and what your rental agreement or lease says.
Also it could make a difference whether there's a shortage or a surplus of rentals of your type in the area.
If you've been renting a while, this is the first time you've been late, and they're nice - likely nothing.
Change any of those above, and who knows what they'll do.
Hold you to the contract and kick you out as soon as they legally can. |

Hopefully this is the 1st time this has happened?? If so just go in and talk to the Assistant Manager (They are normally the ones that handle the money side of the office, DO NOT TALK TO THE LEASING AGENT! MANAGER OR ASSISTANT MANAGER ONLY!!!) explain to himher what is going on (BE HONEST)... have something in writing with what money you do have. Let your letter state when and how much you will be paying at a later date (include all late fees and the rest of the rent... if you pay water or some other utility to them make sure to include that too). Most of the time they are understanding. |

I agree you can just tell them the truth, however they really just care about the rent and not the reason. They will probably charge you a penalty for being late with part of the rent. |

Tell, the rent people that the rent will be paid in two halves, the first half now and the second half when you next get paid as you have had an emergency ( shortage of money emergency but dont say that!) in the famiy and it has knocked your finances out of sync! |

Hold the payment until you have it all and then pay the late charges attached to the contract you originally signed, but there is no excuse that can be accepted short of a death in the family and a broken car, but if you lose your job then you have to look what is legal before they evict you. Good luck. |
