My lease is over this month and i want to leave, rent is gonna raise for all tenants who renew. so i applied for this other apt. showed proof of job,bank account, and current apartment verification (1 year). but 6 years ago i broke a lease for a very emergency situation. my credit report showed that they looked at it on the 5th. but then on the 10th she called my apartments to verify me living here. question..if i was gonna get denied would she have called my apts DAYS after checking my credit? or would she have not even bothered calling apts because credit showed broken lease? whatdya think?
Occasionally landlords/community manager's want ALL the background information on an applicant prior to making an approval or a denial. It's possible that when the lease break information showed up on the credit report they attempted to verify the situation that you had 6 years ago. Investigating the reason behind the lease break may have been more time consuming since it has been 6 years.
Combining your credit information along with the lease break situation and then finaling contacting your current landlord sounds VERY reasonable to take 5 or more days to receive an answer.
Check in daily, question if there is anything you can do to stremline the application processes such as providing contact info. for the lease break 6 years ago.

Sounds like maybe she had several people appling for apts. & she was just busy. She probaly wouldn't check your current apt. if she wasn't interested in you.
Just say no!
I would think she is looking at CURRENT rental history. 6 years ago shouldn't be as much a factor as what your most RECENT activity is

I think if you were going to be denied over the credit situation she would not have bothered to make the call to your landlord.

Bad things stay on your credit for 7 years.. Therefore, if it was 6 years ago, I'm sure she wasn't that worried about it. And, seeing as she called your apartments, that is definitely a good sign to me.
