Large Rat | What does a landlord have to supply in an unfurnished property? |
Does he have to supply a fridge, curtains, washing machine etc? |
|

honey
 |
it depends, i'm a landlord and i wanted to rent out an "unfurnished flat" and we had to supply almost everything,washer/dryer dishwasher oven/hob fridge/freezer, bed curtains wardrobe chest drawers carpet, i just wonder what we would've had to supply if it was furnished!! maybe it depends on what's written on the contract and who you're dealing with c.a.b.should be able to help, good luck |

no, unfurnished = roof and walls, and hopefully carpets. Curtains if you're lucky.
If you need all the stuff you've written, best to go part furnished if you can. |

if its unfurnished then nothing at all he has to supply a gas certificate and an electrical 1 thats it |

he does not have to supply anything if the property is unfurnished but some landlords put white goods in the kitchen of properties so that it is then classed as partially furnished.
They do this as it it easier for them to get you out if they need to.
no good asking me the in ins and out of what leverage this gives them, but that is the way it is. |

I took my current flat as unfurnished and it had carpets , cooker and net curtains. My new one is also unfurnished has all of the above plus curtains and desk. But I think it all depends on the Landlord I don't think they have to supply anything if it is advertised as 'unfurnished' other than, as one poster already said, the correct certificates. |

I have been told that a Landlord has to supply cooking facilities, because the whole house needs to classed as safe to use...if the tenant brings in his own how would the Landlord know a cooker (gas or electric) had been fitted properly? |
